Hello everybody,
I went to London two years ago and, in the picture, you can see me in Trafalgar Square next to one of the bronze lions.
Trafalgar Square is located in the heart of London and in front of the National Gallery. This place was built in 1830 to commemorate the victory in the "Battle of Trafalgar", a battle between the British Navy and the French Navy and the Spanish Navy.
Nelson's Column is the center of the square, sorrounded by fountains and it's "guarded" by four bronze lions, which are said to be made of the cannons of the French and Spanish Navies.
Also, you can find statues of important people, like James II, Charles I and Sir Henry Havelock.
The square has become a social and political focus such as New Year events, sports events, political demostrations, etc.
Kind regards,
Patricia.
