Statue of Liberty

Hi everybody!

I'm going to describe the Statue of Liberty, in New York. I've never been there but it's my dream to visit it, I'd like going to United States.

 Its official name is  Liberty Enlightening the World, it is situated in New York's port, in the Liberty Island. This statue was a gift from France to the United States as a proof of friendship. It symbolizes a political and democratic freedom. Some of its parts are very significant and represent something important, like for example, the splint that you see in its hand has recorded the date of signing the Declaration of Independence. Also, at its base you can find a museum in which you can learn all its history.

More interesting information is: France and The United States agreed that France had to construct the statue and USA the base; At the beginning, after its inauguration, in 1886, the statue was used as a lighthouse, but throughout its history it has suffered a lot of reformations and utilities... There are a lot of curiosities about it.

We all know that this monument has enormous proportions, that makes me want to visit it, it's probably bigger than I can imagine. A large number of people has visited, wants or will visit it, I'm one of them.

It is necessary to appoint that the Statue of Liberty is one of the most important and famous monuments of the world.
