The White House

Hello everyone,

I have never been to any english speaking country, and for this entry, I chose to write some quick facts about the White House. We can honestly say that many important decisions were taken in this building so, those walls definitely have a history.

As you know, it's the official residence and workplace of the president of the U.S. and it housed 44 presidents to this day, being located in Washington D.C. , on Pennsylvania Avenue.
President Theodore Roosevelt gave the building the name it has today.
It was initially designed by an Irish-born architect James Hoban and  it was built between 1792-1800 but, in time, the building's structure has been expanded and certain parts of it where changed or restored. The group of buildings surrounding the main residence is known as the White House Complex. It has 132 rooms, 32 bathrooms, and 6 levels , 3 elevators, and many staircases for the people who live or work in the white house.
For recreational purposes, it has a variety of facilities such as a tennis court, a jogging track, movie theater, billiard room and others.
The White House receives about 5000 visitors a day, being one of the most representing landmarks for the U.S.
