Stonehenge
Hi everyone,
In this photo you can see behind me an enigmatic but beautiful prehistoric monument, Stonehenge, which is located in the county of Wiltshire near to Salisbury.
It's one of the most famous monuments of the Bronze Age, it's composed of several huge stones which form different circles. There are different theories about its origin, some historians think the first stones were erected in 2400–2200 BC, others think the date could be at least in 3000 BC.
As far as the monument's functions concerned we don't know why it was built but there are some theories, one of them defend that it was a religious temple or a burial ground, other defend it was an astronomical observatory. Nowadays there is a debate about this topic as everything what is related to Stonehenge is a mistery.
I think it's an amazing place to visit where magic is overflowing, it's really interesting to see what the humanity is able to do.
I hope you like it.

Fascinating!
Did you visit the place at the beginning of the summer solstice?
Thanks,
Patricia
No, I didn't. I visited Stonehenge on 14th July more and less but I know it's even more awesome when summer solstice begins because the sun traverses the monument's axis and people say it's really special.
When I visited it, the day was a little cloudy which created an incredible atmosphere.
