In the last class we were talking about WW2 and the attack of the Japaneses in Pearl Harbour. All we know many people died and it was terrible but, do you know what happened with innocent Japanese citizens who were living in US at that moment? Let me show you the other point of view. The other side.
The video I uploaded explains very well the tough life a father had. Being persecuted without reason.
The man who sings the song is Mike Shinoda, member of the group Linkin Park (although he performed this song with other group called Fort Minor) and in this song he explains his grandfather's life. A part from his voice, the other two voices which appear in the song are Shinoda's father and grandmother voices.

It is an incredible song! I like it so much because it says many truths that sometimes some people do not want to see or admit.
If we think carefully about what every country has done along the history, we can realise that all of them have commited horrible and inhumane acts. Everyone has something to be ashamed.
Another thing that, for my point of view, is incredible and attracts my attention is that US condemned the Nazis for acting against human rights due to the Holocaust, but US also deprived innocent Japanese Americans of being freedom taking them to camps just because they were Japanese. From my point of view, it seems a bit what happened with Jews, they were already condemn just because of their religious although they were innocent. As I have said before: Everyone has something to be ashamed.

Just a brief comment. When you say "with innocent Japanese citizens who were living in US at that moment" you miss an important point: they were US citizens of Japanese descent.
This makes matters worse!
But this is a comment for Mª Dolores: Nazis killed millions of Jews - Americans did not kill Japanese-American citizens. It was wrong to send them to camps, obviously, but the holocaust was a completely different story!

I know that the example that I have given is a bit magnified and I am sorry if I offended someone with that comment, that was not my intention. I only wanted to say that anyone has comitted bad acts so we do not have to feel "superior" than other people. I do not know if I am explaining my thoughts correctly. I am aware of what happened with the Holocaust and that many Jews died and Americans did not kill anyone. The idea that I wanted to say is that both of them, Nazis and Americans, snatched people's freedom taking them into camps (obviously there is a huge difference between them due to the fact that Nazis killed many people).
As I said before, I am sorry if I had offended someone with my comment, that was not my intention.
Well, María Dolores, you've brought up an interesting discussion and I'm very glad that you, Natasha, myself and many others are moved by this video-clip and the story of the internment camps.
And I agree with you on many points. The song is incredible, it really makes you think what it was like.
And also, you're right: it was a huge mistake of the US government. Taking away people's freedom is horrible, even when it was out of fear.
